VCG WINS NEW ACCOUNT WITH DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES
Change management consulting firm, The Value Creation Group, has entered into a new phase of strategic development with PSAM (Property Services and Asset Management), a division of the Victorian Department of Human Services.
PSAM is responsible for the full lifecycle of 80,000 Victorian public housing properties including their maintenance. The initial strategic work has centered around a review of PSAM’s capabilities and the value being delivered to their key stakeholders.
“When large organisations need to understand the value they’re delivering to stakeholders, the first place to start is by reviewing the strategy and purpose of the organisation. This has been a very positive process and it underlines the unique and important role PSAM is delivering for the community” says VCG Managing Director Jim Cummane.
Public housing currently represents 5% of Victoria’s total housing stock, and with the onset of the housing affordability crisis in recent years (a combination of increasing rents as well as a net population rise in Melbourne) affordable housing is one of the most important issues facing the State.
“The management of 80,000 properties is an enormous task by world standards, and as specialists in change management, VCG is working closely with numerous PSAM staff to really understand and highlight the IP that will enable the organisation to successfully deliver positive housing outcomes into the future.”
